Welding Instructor (Part-Time/Adjunct)
Location:
Anchorage, AK
Charter College, a fast-growing career college in Anchorage, Alaska, has established Welding Programs at our campus and is seeking enthusiastic instructors to join our team. Our philosophy is to provide a unique educational path that leads to successful job performance and long-term job satisfaction across skilled trades and professional industries.
Our Anchorage campus is rapidly expanding, and we are looking for a part-time Welding Instructor with the commitment and drive to help students achieve their goals.
Schedule- Classes held twice per week
- 5-week courses
- Average 10–12 hours per week (instruction + student support)
Available shifts:
- 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday–Thursday or
- 5:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday
- Deliver lecture and hands-on laboratory instruction in accordance with curriculum standards
- Follow and maintain course outlines, objectives, and evaluation methods
- Develop lesson plans for daily instruction
- Track student attendance, retention, and progress
- Grade assignments and provide timely feedback
- Assign and submit final grades in a timely manner
- Provide student support during office hours or by appointment
- Substitute for other instructors as needed
- Advise students on academic performance and school policies
- Communicate regularly with the Program Manager and/or Campus President
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies in secured facilities
- Submit requests for textbooks, supplies, and equipment
- Ensure adherence to safety and program guidelines
- Participate in faculty development and maintain professional expertise
- Attend required meetings and serve on committees as assigned
- Perform other duties as required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a welding professional
- Broad knowledge of welding applications, procedures, specifications, industry codes, standards, and metallurgy
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred (not required):
- AWS CWI certification
- Vocational or technical training in welding (pipe and structural) with relevant certifications
- At least three (3) years of experience in inspection or fabricator quality control
- Part-time (adjunct) position
- $1,250 – $1,400 per 5-week course
