Job Details
JOB SUMMARY:
Supports the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Alaska Tribal Justice Resource Center (ATJRC). Coordinate one-on-one and small group training and technical assistance sessions with tribal communities, including intake, assessment and developing a training and technical assistance plan. Support tribes to plan, design and develop partnerships to implement and/or enhance their tribal justice systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS,
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Guide program planning and needs assessment with input from community leaders, project staff and partners. Solicits input from stakeholders, both in Alaska and national technical assistance providers, as well as Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).
* Work with program partners to ensure Grantees needs are met without duplication of efforts.
* Work with program partners to implement a Grantee needs assessment.
* Review all Grantees strategic plans, logic models and timelines and meet with Grantees regularly to problem solve challenges and celebrate successes.
* Provide training and technical assistance (TTA) including trainings, workshops, webinars and information sessions. Connect TTA recipients to appropriate information, service providers, and specialized trainers, as requested.
* Complete site visits to provide local training for Grantees. Coordinate these site visits with other TA partners and as needed and obtain approval from Manager and BJA.
* Submit regular progress reports and responds to requests for information on project activities. Lead the collection and reporting of Performance Measures.
* Work with Manager to assure that reporting requirements of the grants are met.
* Participate in regular supervisory meetings and all required training.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Participate in all appropriate training functions, developing and leading workshops, presenting at conferences, etc.
* Network with other RurAL CAP staff, service providers, prevention organizations and agency partners to promote the mission and goals of RurAL CAP.
JOB CONDITIONS:
* Agency is a mandated tobacco, drug and alcohol free workplace.

* Able to endure and balance work fluctuations, deadlines, and interruptions; must be able to work weekends, and long hours during occasional peak work periods.
* Regular travel to rural Alaska and ability to carry out job responsibilities in rural areas without, or with limited, running water and sewer systems.
* Requires extensive networking, teamwork with other employees, and an ability to share information and speak in open forums in front of groups.
* Performs sedentary activities that require sitting for long periods and repetitive keyboarding.
* Performs physical activities such as lifting, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
* Must know proper lifting techniques and be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or hours vary with location. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
