Overview
We are hiring Summer Camp Counselors who are enthusiastic about the fine arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, and who enjoy mentoring, teaching, and working with youth in grades 6 through 12. Camps run through June on the UAA Anchorage campus, with multiple options each week. Candidates will be energetic, patient, creative communicators who are passionate about working with youth and contributing to the synthesis, understanding, and communication of shared knowledge between UAA faculty, community experts, and camp participants.
Minimum Qualifications- Enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester (Summer 2026) of employment, or the intent to enroll in six credit hours during the Fall 2026 semester.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Successfully pass a background check and complete 20 hours of required paid training.
- Preference will be given to students in the UAA College of Arts and Sciences who have experience mentoring, teaching, or working with youth and summer camps.
Location:
University of Alaska Anchorage campus, Anchorage, Alaska.
Type:
Full‑time, temporary Student Worker position.
Pay: $18.24 per hour.
Work Hours:
40 hours per week for one camp (plus training time), from mid‑May to the end of June. Applicants may indicate interest in more than one week of camp work.
Recruitment is open to undergraduate students only. This is a pooled position; applications are reviewed as needed.
