UAA Criminology & Criminal Justice Temporary Faculty
The UAA Justice Center is holding an open recruitment for Criminology and Criminal Justice adjunct instructors who are interested in expanding their professional practice to include part‑time teaching in undergraduate programs. Instruction will occur through distance delivery, face‑to‑face on campus methods, or hybrid approaches.
Position DetailsNew hires will be placed on the UNAD Adjunct salary table. This is a pooled position; applications are reviewed as needed. The position is at‑will, union represented, and may be canceled based on the university’s needs. This role is represented by United Academic – Adjuncts, AAUP‑AFT/AFL‑CIO.
Minimum QualificationsAdjunct faculty offering lower‑division Criminology and Criminal Justice courses are required to hold a Master’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, or a related discipline, or equivalent specialized training and/or educational certifications, and possess two to three years of related experience.
Adjunct faculty offering upper‑division Criminology and Criminal Justice courses are required to hold a Ph.D. in criminal justice, criminology, or a related discipline, or equivalent specialized training and/or educational certifications, and possess two to three years of related experience. Exceptions may be made on a case‑by‑case basis, subject to approval by the Criminology and Criminal Justice faculty and the Assistant Dean of the School of Justice and Human Services.
Eligibility- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Candidates requiring visa sponsorship are not eligible.
Successful applicants are required to complete a background check. Any offer of employment is contingent on the background check.
