Assistant Professor of Psychology

Position Overview

We invite applications for a beginning‑level, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Psychology to join the Department of Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). The appointment is full‑time, nine‑month, and includes a competitive salary, DOE, and full employee benefits. Expected start date is August 2026.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses both online and on campus in social psychology and related subjects.
• Utilize contemporary curricular content and innovative pedagogical methods.
• Mentor students at the research level.

• Develop an independent research program that builds on existing community and campus partnerships.
• Pursue and secure external funding.
• Publish and disseminate research findings.

• Doctoral degree in Social Psychology or a related field.
• Documented teaching record at the college level, including both online and classroom experience.
• Demonstrated potential or record of research and publication.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships with community partners.
