Lead Teacher
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team! In this role, you'll lead a classroom environment where children feel safe, supported and inspired to learn. You'll plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that meets NAEYC accreditation and licensing standards, while fostering a space that celebrates diversity and developmental need. As a Lead Teacher, you'll build meaningful connections with children, families, and teammates, ensuring clear communication and a strong sense of community.
This position is located at our Abbott Headquarters (1941 Abbott Rd.)
Pay Range: $21.79/hr.
- $30.28/hr.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Designs and implements an emergent curriculum founded on Developmentally Appropriate Practice and NAEYC Accreditation standards.
Communicates appropriately (verbal and written) with children, parents/families, teaching and management teams.
ACTIVITIES:
Plans and Facilitates developmentally appropriate learning experiences, activities and interactions that recognize age/diversity specific need/issues of customers served.
Completes forms and records related to children's development and learning experiences. Documentation includes children's original work, photographs, anecdotal records and other appropriate recording and assessment tools.
Creates and maintains a safe, organized, well supplied and varied learning environment.
Establishes and maintains a safe and healthy environment through adequate supervision of children and implementation of infection control procedures. Helps to ensure the safety of equipment and materials. Maintains a first aid kit.
EDUCATION:
Current infant/child CPR/first aid certification. Meets licensing requirements and NAEYC Accreditation standards for continuing education.
Complies with licensing and NAEYC Accreditation standards while implementing Developmentally Appropriate Practice. Evaluates program effectiveness and makes adjustments and accommodations when appropriate.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
(Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)
Toddlers or Preschool, and/or additional training and course work in early childhood education.
