Overview

The Transportation & Power Division is recruiting qualified applicants for our adjunct pool for Automotive and Diesel technology instructors.

Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students. Expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of the specialty.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years documented industry experience in the area taught is required. Previous teaching experience at the secondary or post‑secondary level in an automotive related program is preferred.

Associate’s degree in Automotive/Diesel Technology or related field or an exceptional level of professional experience in a closely related field may be considered. A bachelor’s degree in Automotive/Diesel Technology or related field is preferred. Certification specific to the area(s) taught, such as Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), is required.

Position Details

This is a part‑time adjunct instructor position. Minimum salaries are set by the United Academic – Adjunct, AAUP‑AT/AFL‑CIO collective bargaining agreement. Salaries may vary based upon education and experience. This is a pooled position and applications are reviewed as needed.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Applicants requiring visa sponsorship are not eligible.

This is an at‑will, union‑represented adjunct position, and may be cancelled based upon the needs of the university.
