The successful candidate will have knowledge of student outreach and retention principles, relevant policies and procedures, and appropriate handling of confidential information, or the ability to learn these areas quickly. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the ability to learn and use complex databases and information systems and to work accurately with spreadsheets, reports, and records; ability to organize and analyze data, identify patterns, prepare clear status reports, and recommend practical courses of action.

The successful candidate will have strong project coordination, documentation, time-management, and event-planning skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines and recurring projects; effective written, interpersonal, presentation, and collaborative communication skills, with the ability to work independently within established priorities and as an influential member of a team.

The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating complex projects or programs involving multiple stakeholders and recurring deadlines;
Experience in higher education, student outreach, enrollment management, retention initiatives, scholarships, or related administrative work is preferred;
Experience using Banner, Navigate, or comparable enterprise information and student-success systems is desirable but not required;
Experience using data to support planning, evaluate activities, or improve programs would be valuable. Successful candidates will be organized, analytical, collaborative, and able to move plans from concept to implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Relevant experience may include student services, enrollment management, institutional research, program coordination, outreach, recruitment, retention, event coordination, data reporting, or related work in higher education.

Position Details:

This position is located on University of Alaska, Anchorage campus in Anchorage Alaska. This is a full-time, term-funded, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.

New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
