Overview

Job Title: HSE Specialist / WSER III
Location: Anchorage, AK (with North Slope support)
Schedule: 9/80 Schedule (9 hour Days)
Compensation:$63 - $77 / Hour

The HSE Specialist / WSER III will serve as a key compliance resource supporting DOT-regulated pipeline projects. This role acts as the primary liaison for DOT compliance during project planning and execution, ensuring adherence to applicable federal and state regulations. The position also provides periodic North Slope backfill support for the DOT Compliance Specialist role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide DOT pipeline compliance guidance for projects (49 CFR Parts 192 & 195)
  • Support project teams through design, construction, and execution phases
  • Review and support MOCs, PSSRs, and PHAs
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews
  • Maintain compliance documentation and regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSE teams
  • Serve as a visible safety leader and promote Operating Integrity standards
  • Provide North Slope coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 5+ years of experience interpreting and applying DOT pipeline regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 192 & 195
  • Experience supporting complex oil & gas projects
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft O365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Willingness to travel to the North Slope (up to ~15%)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, or related field
  • Prior DOT Compliance Specialist experience
  • Oil & gas capital project experience
  • Experience working with federal or state regulators
  • Familiarity with pipeline facilities, integrity programs, and OQ requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
