At Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions designing the future today. As a Senior Project Manager, you will have a chance to be a leader in improving the water and wastewater infrastructure across our state. As a key member of our team, you’ll engage in challenging water projects—leading all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning.

You will assist with business development, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts to grow our business. You will also establish and maintain strong client relationships by communicating with clients on technical design topics and project schedule/budget/scope to develop long-term strategy for continued market success. You will be responsible for leading project teams and communicating between diverse design disciplines for the delivery of designs and related studies.

Join our team and help us lay the foundation for our growth in these markets.

In this role you’ll
  • Deliver projects across Alaska, including conveyance, storage, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and planning.
  • Provide leadership and coordination to multi-discipline delivery teams.
  • Manage and/or lead projects in accordance with the contract requirements and Jacobs’ business processes, driving profitability and building new business opportunities.
  • Support the development of strategies and tactics related to key client programs, projects and overall portfolios.
  • Work with business development and sales staff in their efforts to position for new opportunities and/or the preparation of proposals.
  • Promote a culture of caring, quality, safety, and inclusion and diversity.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor staff to deliver superior results collectively and individually.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Civil, Environmental or Mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum 15 years in the industry with directly applicable project management experience
  • Professional Engineer license (P.E.) (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
  • Proven experience managing and designing small to large water planning and infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated aptitude, ability, and capacity to build and support a team
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or demonstrated commensurate project management experience and skills
  • A strong network with local municipalities or other water/wastewater clients
