GCI Communications is seeking an Applogic Systems Engineer to support a broad range of wireless network operations and modernization initiatives. This engineer will help offload mid‑level engineering tasks so the core team can concentrate on two major strategic efforts:
This role is ideal for someone with strong wireless systems knowledge who can also operate comfortably across Linux‑based network environments, automation workflows, and policy‑driven traffic systems. You’ll join a collaborative team of engineers reporting directly to the Manager of Systems Delivery. Upgrades to the Applogic policy management platform.
- Support wireless telephony systems, wireless protocols, and wireless network operations across GCI’s product ecosystem.
- Assist with automation optimization for wireless and network services, improving delivery speed and reliability.
- Log into Sandvine PTS devices to update scripts, modify policies, and support traffic shaping initiatives.
- Update and maintain ITDR scopes, documentation, and operational readiness materials.
- Assist with DHCP, DNS, and routing‑related tasks that support wireless service delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline wireless workflows and accelerate project execution.
- Basic understanding of wireless telephony systems and wireless protocols
- Experience supporting wireless network infrastructure in telecom or fiber‑based environments
- Linux networking and systems administration
- IPv4 and IPv6
- DNS & DHCP
- Layer 3 routing
- Bash scripting
- Experience with Sandvine or Applogic — required
- Red Hat certifications (RHCSA or RHCE)
- Background in wireless systems engineering, wireless policy management, or telecom operations
- Experience with wireless monitoring, wireless alarms, or remote facility wireless systems
- Relevant professional experience in wireless or systems engineering
- Certifications such as Certified Systems Administrator, RHCSA, RHCE
