Job Summary

The QAP Internship program is crafted to educate current college students about the different aspects of the construction business and manufacturing of aggregates. Project engineer interns will gain hands‑on experience assisting project engineers in the management of projects through cost management and analysis, scheduling, billing, and general project management. Interns will also observe, learn, and assist with field and office engineering, administrative, and technical duties.

This role could involve working in remote areas of Alaska.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe project site and work environment in accordance with Colaska policy and Goal Zero principles.
  • Attend pre‑bid meetings and bid openings.
  • Work closely with the project team supervising the safety, cost, and scheduling of construction projects.
  • Assist the project team in establishing the sequential steps involved in all processes, adapting schedules and work tasks accordingly.
  • Effectively lead the work environment to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory and production targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to improve the company's ability to procure projects, reduce risk, and ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Must be self‑motivated and able to set deadlines and implement them.
  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs.
  • Capable of technical writing.
Skills
  • Self‑motivated and eager learner, with the ability to grow and develop within the field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and analyze data.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
  • High degree of problem‑solving skills.
