Building on our past. Ready for the future.
Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.
Play an integral role in delivering complex, high-impact projects from Anchorage, Alaska, with occasional travel to the North Slope. This role sits at the center of project execution-connecting strategy, commercial discipline, and field delivery to ensure subcontracted services are aligned, compliant, and high performing. You will be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise directly influences project outcomes, contractor performance, and client satisfaction.
Purpose of the role
You will be responsible for administering one or more high-value subcontracts, ensuring that subcontractors consistently meet Worley and client requirements across safety, quality, cost, and schedule. This includes leading commercial engagements, negotiating contract terms, and proactively managing subcontractor performance throughout the lifecycle of major projects, particularly within pipeline and construction environments.
Core Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for identifying, prequalifying, and selecting subcontractors to support engineering, environmental, and construction project execution.
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, and execution of subcontracts, ensuring commercially sound and risk-balanced agreements.
- Administer subcontracts of significant complexity and value, maintaining full compliance with company standards and project objectives.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, including delivery, safety, quality, and commercial compliance, and implement corrective actions where required.
- Collaborate with project, procurement, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment across all subcontracting activities.
- Review, validate, and approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation prior to payment.
- Provide expert guidance on subcontracting strategies, contract terms, and risk mitigation to project stakeholders and leadership.
- Lead or support cross-functional project teams, contributing to planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strong documentation practices and ensure audit-ready subcontract files and records.
- Travel as required to subcontractor facilities or project sites, including remote and logistically complex environments such as the North Slope.
What you'll bring to the role
- A university degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience.
- Typically 7+ years of experience in subcontract administration, contract management, or procurement within engineering and construction environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting major pipeline construction projects, including exposure to early works, construction camps, logistics, and remote operations (e.g., medevac/security coordination).
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to negotiate complex subcontract terms and conditions effectively.
- Advanced understanding of subcontracting systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and guide others.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute work independently while contributing to broader team objectives.
- Experience leading or mentoring others, with the capability to guide functional teams and influence outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to inform, influence, and persuade stakeholders through reports, presentations, and direct engagement.
- High level of attention to detail, particularly in contract documentation, compliance, and financial accuracy.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and contractor locations as required.
Feel the energy at Worley with access to a range of benefits including: paid-time off, holiday pay (usually 8 per year in the US), and eligibility to participate in the medical, life, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as 401K plan.
If you are motivated by complex projects, thrive in a commercially driven environment, and bring a pragmatic approach to solving challenges, we encourage you to apply and help shape the future of energy and infrastructure delivery.
