Overview

Responsibilities- Operate RTK GPS, total station, and survey equipment to collect spatial data for environmental and construction projects.
- Plan and conduct surveys for boring locations, field screening, sample points, and other project needs.
- Process, verify, and manage survey data quality before submission.
- Input and plot coordinates from surveyor’s field notes into geospatial and CAD software.
- Conduct differential leveling and Real‑Time Kinematic GPS surveys.
- Create mapping deliverables using ESRI ArcGIS (Standard and Pro) and AutoCAD (Civil 3D/Map3D/Raster Design) software.
- Develop and maintain client‑compliant geodatabases, integrate with other data management tools, and prepare raster and vector maps.
- Maintain metadata and incorporate AutoCAD drawings into ArcGIS projects, ensuring proper scaling and cartographic quality.
- There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role.
- Current Professional Land Surveyor license from the State of Alaska.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience working in a survey crew.
- Associate of Science degree in survey engineering, land surveying, geodesy, remote sensing, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Access.
- Strong knowledge of map projections, vertical and geodetic datums, and coordinate system transformations.
- Ability to translate field data into accurate maps and graphics.
- Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines.
