What You’ll Do (The Impact You’ll Have)

You’ll serve as a senior leader within preconstruction; driving estimating strategy, supporting team development, and helping position projects for success before construction even begins.

Preconstruction and Estimating Leadership
  • Lead estimate startup, progress, and final review meetings
  • Prepare and oversee detailed and conceptual cost estimates for commercial construction projects
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop complete and competitive estimates
  • Oversee quantity take-offs, trade scope development, and bid package coordination
  • Drive value engineering and constructability analysis to improve project outcomes
  • Develop and manage pre-bid schedules to ensure alignment across the estimating process
Project Strategy and Client Collaboration
  • Partner with clients, architects, engineers, and project teams during preconstruction
  • Lead subcontractor outreach, bid strategy, and proposal review efforts
  • Review and level subcontractor proposals to ensure complete project coverage and scope alignment
  • Assist in evaluating procurement strategies and long-lead considerations
  • Help identify project risks, cost impacts, and opportunities early in the process
Team Development and Operational Support
  • Mentor and support Estimators and developing team members
  • Share historical cost knowledge, best practices, and estimating standards across the team
  • Help improve estimating systems, workflows, and tracking processes
  • Support a collaborative environment between estimating, operations, and field teams
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement

This is more than estimating; it’s an opportunity to influence projects, people, and process at a high level.

What You Bring
  • 7+ years of commercial construction experience (field and/or office)
  • Strong estimating experience in vertical commercial construction
  • Advanced understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and cost structures
  • Experience with takeoff software (E-Takeoff, OST, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • AEP/CPE certification through ASPE
  • Experience mentoring estimators or leading estimating efforts
  • Experience with 3D/modeling and construction technology platforms
Compensation
  • Competitive salary. $95,000 - $125,000+, based on experience and leadership capability
  • Performance-based bonus (up to 15%) tied to individual and company results
