We are seeking a skilled and experienced
** Junior Air Quality Engineer or Scientist
** to join our expanding Air Quality Permitting and Compliance Team in Anchorage, Alaska. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in or are willing to relocate to Anchorage.

This full-time position offers a dynamic range of responsibilities, requiring adaptability and a broad skill set. It presents an exciting opportunity to contribute technical expertise to complex air quality permitting projects across industries such as oil & gas, mining, chemical, energy, and other industrial sectors—both within Alaska and our North American region.

** Required Technical Skills and Experience
*** Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related scientific field
* Previous experience in the areas of air quality permitting and compliance consulting is a plus
* Zero to 2 years of experience solving environmental problems, calculating air quality emissions, and interpreting permits or environmental regulations
* Technical writing skills, and experience writing comprehensive technical reports
* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software and PDF software.
* Ability to visit industrial and manufacturing facilities

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Accurately and efficiently complete tasks in support of air quality-related  compliance reporting, permitting, stakeholder communication, and field data collection
* Interact with project team members to steward compliance reports and permit applications and through the review process to delivery.
* Understand and utilize compliance tracking and reporting software tools
* Provide technical understanding related to projects (e.g., regulatory requirements, compliance obligations).
* Assist clients with compliance programs.
* Proactively work with SLR project managers to maintain a sustainable workload.
* Short-duration travel to visit project locations and attend meetings.
* With appropriate experience, a successful candidate will be considered for work as a representative of SLR, temporarily working in client office.
