Engineer/Architect 1/2 Flex (Utility Lead/Manager) – Anchorage, Alaska

Start‑up:
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Central Region, seeks two utility leads to manage utility permitting and the development of small to medium capital improvement projects within DOT&PF managed rights‑of‑way.

• Engineer/Architect 1: $3,870.40 - $4,268.80 biweekly (OT Ineligible)
• Engineer/Architect 2: $4,133.60 - $4,567.20 biweekly (OT Ineligible)

• Oversee utility permitting and coordination with DOT&PF design staff and engineering consultants.
• Supervise a team of three engineering assistants in the Utilities Group.
• Develop proficiency in utility‑related duties and supervisory responsibilities, advancing to Engineer/Architect 2 level.

This position is based at 4111 Aviation Ave., Anchorage, AK. The office includes cubicle space in the Central Region Headquarters. Office hours are flexible with occasional travel to project sites. Hybrid teleworking is available after the mandatory probationary period.

Engineer/Architect 1 – Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect. Must be registered in Alaska or obtain registration within one year of hire.

Engineer/Architect 2 – Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, plus one year of professional experience as Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate in Alaska. Must be registered in Alaska or obtain registration within one year of hire.

• Valid driver’s license required.
