Professional Land Surveyor – Brice Engineering LLC

Brice Engineering LLC is a long‑standing, environmentally focused engineering firm that supports projects across Alaska. We are looking for a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to collect, analyze and deliver spatial data for environmental and construction projects.

• Survey Operations
  • Use RTK GPS, total station, and surveying equipment to collect data for environmental and construction projects such as boring locations, field screening sites, sample points, and topographic surveys.
  • Perform differential leveling and RTK GPS surveys.
  • Process and quality‑control field data before submission.
  • Input and plot survey coordinates and field notes in appropriate format.
• Cartography & GIS
  • Develop and maintain geodatabases compliant with client standards.
  • Integrate geodatabases with other data‑management tools.
  • Produce maps using raster and vector spatial data; prepare maps with point, line, and polygon datasets.
  • Establish and update metadata and ensure proper scaling for engineering design.
  • Incorporate AutoCAD drawings into ArcGIS mapping.
• AutoCAD Mapping
  • Produce maps using raster and vector spatial data structures.
  • Edit shapefile data using CAD drafting tools.
  • Process survey data from the field into database and map deliverables.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

• Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Microsoft Access.
• Deep understanding of map projections, vertical and geodetic datums, coordinate system transformations, and field‑to‑map conversion processes.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Experience in designing and using relational databases and querying tools for survey data.

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Alaska.
• Minimum six (6) years of experience in a survey crew.
• Associate of Science degree in Survey Engineering, Land Surveying, Geodesy, Remote Sensing, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in collecting and reducing survey data.
• Experience in construction surveying, machine‑control modeling, and civil construction projects.
