Engineering Project Manager - Waste - ( 194243 )
HDR is an employee‑owned company committed to inclusion and sustainability. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager in waste infrastructure to lead civil and environmental projects across our waste sector.
Primary Responsibilities- Planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of civil/site and environmental projects (landfills, vertical facilities, brownfields, remediation).
- Lead project design, engineering record, and project management for small to large‑scale projects, demonstrating progressive experience.
- Coordinate and mentor junior staff; support team leadership in sustaining and growing client relationships.
- Identify upcoming project opportunities, participate in pursuit and proposal development, and develop scopes of work and budgets.
- Assist in business development opportunities, and in all aspects of client relationship management.
- Maintain and implement storm‑water controls, groundwater monitoring and remediation networks, leach‑ate management systems, landfill gas collection and control systems, and site layout/infrastructure elements (utilities, roads, support buildings, soil borrow areas, etc.).
- Support land development, site grading, permitting (local, federal, state), storm‑water design, volume calculations, geotechnical/geosynthetics, feasibility studies, capital/operations planning, and utility coordination.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- At least 7 years of related experience, including a minimum of 2 years in project management.
- Professional Engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., PE or P.Eng). Alaska PE or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
- Five years of project management experience.
- MS Office and MS Project experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Commitment to being an active participant of HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
- Experience with municipal solid waste (MSW) and other waste management is a plus.
