The Electrical and Instrumentation Designer is responsible for generating accurate engineering and construction deliverables for all project phases in a single or multidiscipline environment. This position provides technical guidance to drafters and assistant designers.

Essential duties include preparing designs at the direction of engineers, preparing material specifications and MTOs, reviewing vendor drawings for accuracy, interpreting scope-of-work into drawing designs, assisting the lead designer in establishing design criteria for all assigned projects, establishing project resource requirements, man-hour estimates, and schedules in coordination with project engineers, discipline lead engineers, and customers, creating, updating, and revising drawings using manual techniques and CAD software, assisting in preparing engineering calculations and ensuring compliance with engineering and drafting standards, reviewing designer work for accuracy and compliance with Company and customer requirements, generating bill of materials and engineering material requisitions, ensuring all design deliverables are completed in compliance with Company and customer requirements, providing technical guidance to drafters and assistant designers, senior designers will lead, coordinate, and perform quality control of work prepared by lower level designers and serve as lead project designer, other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require, complying with Company and customer policies and procedures, supporting AES zero-incident safety culture and assuming personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

Required experience includes proficiency with AutoCAD, 3-D modeling, and Microsoft Office, 2+ years of experience in electrical design, ability to generate drawing packages from initial design to as-builts, understanding and applying industry codes and standards, strong communication skills and ability to work in a team, ability to travel as required, high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, and possession of a valid state driver's license.

Preferred qualifications include experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment, 3D modeling design experience in the North Slope industry, and an associate degree or technical certification in design.
