Junior Mechanical​/Piping Designer - Anchorage, AK

* Applies established design practices under the guidance of senior designers, engineers, or discipline leads to prepare drawings, 3D models, material take-offs, and related design documentation. This role is intended for a developing designer who can complete routine assignments with

* ** Responsibilities*
* + Interprets and applies codes, procedures, standards and specifications to accurately and efficiently produce designs which conform to applicable codes and specifications.

+ Accurately develops material takeoffs and estimates.

+ Proficiently operates various AutoCAD systems.  Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform design tasks.

+ Consistently demonstrates example skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork, handling a client's changing needs, communications, operational efficiencies, decision making, and analyzing and solving problems.

+ Inspects equipment for conformance with design specifications. Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.

+ Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technical changes and developments in industry.

+ This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

+ Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

** Qualifications*
* + Associate degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited institution or equivalent years of design experience.

+ Minimum three (3) years experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design in the oil & gas industry.

** Language Ability:*
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

** Math Ability:*
* Math skills sufficient to:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent. Draw and interpret bar graphs.

** Reasoning Ability:*
* Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Skills:
