Police Officer (AK Certified and Lateral)
The Police Officer performs the full range of law enforcement duties to protect and safeguard life and property, prevent crime, apprehend persons suspected of crimes and preserve peace.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Alaska State Drivers' License
- Must meet minimum standards of Alaska Police Standards Council for Police Officers
- Previous academy attendance and relevant police experience (lateral position)
This position is considered a public trust position. An applicant must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal records background check, polygraph, and psychological exam to be considered for this position. An applicant must be able to obtain and maintain an Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) security clearance. This position requires the successful completion of an APSC-Certified Police Academy or certification of prior academy equivalence reciprocity if applying from out of state.
