The Department of Public Safety (DPS), Division of Alaska State Troopers, is currently recruiting to fill Court Services Officer (CSO) positions around the state. The salary is dependent upon the location of hire:
Anchorage = $36.83 per hour, Juneau = $38.67 per hour. Qualified applicants will be attending the Department of Public Safety Training academy beginning January 2027 and July 2027.
Court Services Officers (CSOs) are a unique class of officers who work under the general direction and command of AST. Court Services Officers conduct duties for the Commissioner of Public Safety under AS , which include providing physical security of courtrooms, chambers, and other spaces of the courts including the grounds of court facilities; coordinating and providing prisoner transport; serving court writs;
and providing protective details and security for judicial officers.
The Juneau Court Services Officer position is based out of the Juneau Courthouse Judicial Services Office. The work environment will consist of region wide paper service, evictions, prisoner transports between the Lemon Creek Correctional Center, Anchorage airport, and Southeast Alaska area community jails and villages. In addition, Juneau CSO's routinely conduct out of state fugitive extraditions and courtroom security in Juneau and the outlying Southeast Alaska area courthouses.

The Anchorage Court Services position is in downtown Anchorage on the main Alaska Court System campus. The work environment consists of being part of the largest Judicial Services team in the Alaska State Troopers, conducting local and regional prisoner transports, physical site security, writ services, and judiciary protection. To be considered for this position, you must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire, possess a high school diploma or have passed a General Education Development (GED) test, and be conversant in English (both written and spoken).
