This recruitment is open to Alaska Residents only. Applicants must meet Alaska Residency Requirements in order to be considered for employment at this time.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Serve as the statewide subject matter expert and lead trainer on domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, and human trafficking, with a primary focus on training law enforcement professionals across Alaska.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based training programs for law enforcement, victim services, and criminal justice partners across Alaska.
  • Lead program management activities, including policy development, implementation, review of statutory changes, and technical assistance to statewide stakeholders.
  • Supervise staff by planning, assigning, and monitoring work; setting priorities; evaluating performance; and supporting employee development, with authority to recommend or take action on hiring, promotion, discipline, discharge, or grievance matters.
  • Oversee federal VAWA STOP grant components, including budgeting, reporting, and monitoring compliance and program outcomes.

Most importantly, your work strengthens community safety by improving Alaska's coordinated response to domestic violence, sexual assault, and related crimes.

THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:

This position is located at the Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory (Crime Lab), 4805 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, in Anchorage, nestled at the foot of the beautiful Chugach Mountains. The daily work environment consists of a small team of task-driven individuals. The incumbent will work closely with team members to support the mission. Travel will be required to fulfill job duties.

Work outside of normal business hours may be needed on occasion.
