Adult Probation Officer 1/2A – Anchorage Correctional Complex

Position located in Anchorage, Alaska. Responsible for a full range of probation work in an institution, with 80 to 100 clients assigned.

• Conduct classification reviews, interview and evaluate people seeking parole/probation, prepare reports.
• Provide individual counseling, assess needs, and refer appropriately for work and rehabilitation centers.

We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position‑specific competencies:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field, or

Four years of paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, corrections, criminal investigation, public safety, or law enforcement.

Alternatively, four years in any combination of postsecondary education and paraprofessional experience (2.67 semester hours or 4 quarter hours of post‑secondary education equal one month of experience).

Special Note (All Levels):
Applicants must be 21 years of age, a United States citizen or National, possess a high school diploma or GED, and hold a valid driver's license. Applicants must also meet firearm proficiency requirements if applicable.
