The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining. Land & Water is recruiting for a Natural Resource Manager 2 in Anchorage.

We’re seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to guide the Permitting Unit at the Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO). As the Natural Resource Manager 2, you’ll oversee a team of land management professionals responsible for issuing permits on state lands across Southcentral Alaska.

The Permitting Unit plays a vital role in achieving both the DNR and DMLW missions by ensuring responsible management and utilization of Alaska’s natural resources. This work requires balancing economic development with environmental stewardship to protect the well‑being of current and future generations.

The Natural Resource Manager overseeing the Permitting Unit leads a team of natural resource professionals dedicated to adjudicating and authorizing appropriate uses of state lands, directly supporting the Division and Department’s goals of balanced resource management.

The Permitting Unit is a team of 8 dedicated professionals with deep expertise in land management, specifically in permitting. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape sound public land use decisions, influence policy development, and support Alaska’s economic growth.

This position is based in Anchorage, at the Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO), a workplace known for its collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
