The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Sport Fish is recruiting

for a Program Coordinator 2 located in Anchorage, Alaska!

Administer and monitor approximately $16–$18 million annually in federal Sport Fish Restoration (SFR) and State Wildlife Grant (SWG) funds.

Ensure grant proposals, agreements, expenditures, and activities comply with federal eligibility requirements, regulations, policies, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service guidance.

Serve as the Division’s subject-matter expert on federal grant programs, providing guidance and technical assistance to leadership and statewide staff.

Collaborate across fisheries management, research, enhancement, habitat, communications and outreach, and internal operations to develop, administer, and resolve issues related to federally funded projects.

Apply critical thinking, effective communication, and knowledge of fisheries programs and grant administration to support sound funding decisions and successful program delivery.

Support the Division of Sport Fish mission to protect and improve Alaska’s sport fishery resources by ensuring federal grant funds effectively support our strategic core functions, including fisheries management, research, enhancement, habitat, communications and outreach, and internal operations.

Build collaborative relationships with statewide staff and federal partners to provide guidance, training, and coordination that promote effective, compliant, and accountable management of federal grant programs.

Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and safety-focused workplace while providing grant expertise, fiscal oversight, and policy analysis that help Division leadership make informed decisions and successfully deliver programs statewide.

Work in a positive, collaborative, and flexible environment alongside dedicated professionals supporting fisheries conservation across Alaska.

Build relationships and collaborate with staff across all six of the Division of Sport Fish’s strategic core functions and statewide programs.

Play a key role in overseeing federal grant policies and procedures that support the effective and responsible use of Sport Fish Restoration and State Wildlife Grant funds.

Expand your professional experience through participation in multi-divisional teams, national work groups and task forces, conferences, and program policy development.

Pursue professional growth and leadership development through training opportunities and meaningful involvement in complex, high-impact programs.

Work from dedicated office space in an ADF&G office in Anchorage, with the potential for an optional hybrid telework agreement after a probationary period; daily work is primarily computer-based and involves frequent collaboration with Division leadership, project leaders, and USFWS-Office of Conservation Investment program staff.

Occasional travel is required, including in-state travel for project site visits and meetings and out-of-state travel for regional coordination meetings, conferences, and training.
