You will be responsible for maintaining various support programs enabling essential public safety communications systems serving state, local, federal and Department of Defense first responders. This includes developing and maintaining budget documentation for planned, projected, and executed programs and projects. You will also oversee administrative support staff functions and procurement activities supporting the time-sensitive work of the engineering and operations teams as they operate and maintain our $200-plus million public safety communications systems.

The position supports many of the state and local 9-1-1 dispatch centers’ radio equipment enabling mission critical communications to first responders as they answer calls for help. Your work will support multiple teams working to ensure reliable emergency communications services through a system comprised of over 150 communication sites enabling emergency and day-to-day services to state, local, Department of Defense and federal agencies as they carry out their missions to the public.

Those sites often include microwave communications, high availability network routers, primary and emergency power, shelters and towers all supporting land mobile radio and other customer equipment and services. You will have the opportunity to improve upon our system to increase operational efficiency, capability and reliability. The position is charged to provide vital support services to our teams as we seek innovations and initiatives to advance the mission of the customers and, to implement processes and programs to achieve efficiencies and cost savings.
