Position: Criminal Intelligence Analyst 2 (12-T016)

The recruitment is exempt from the hiring freeze (Administrative Order 358).

This is an exempt position - Salary will be depending on experience.

This recruitment is open to Alaska Residents only. Applicants must meet Alaska Residency Requirement in order to be considered for employment at this time.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Criminal Intelligence Analysts assigned to the Alaska HIDTA Investigative Support Center within the Alaska Criminal Intelligence Center research, evaluate, and compile criminal intelligence for local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies working with Alaska HIDTA and Homeland Security task forces. Serving as subject matter experts, they access a wide range of public, law enforcement, and classified information systems to investigate, verify, analyze, and develop intelligence related to the activities and associations of suspected and known criminals and criminal organizations, particularly those involved in narcotics trafficking in Alaska.

At the journey level, Criminal Intelligence Analyst 2 professionals organize, interpret, and disseminate both strategic and tactical intelligence to support investigators across multiple jurisdictions, contributing directly to coordinated enforcement efforts and successful prosecution outcomes.

This Criminal Intelligence Analyst position is a temporary exempt position, with continued employment evaluated annually and contingent upon government grant funding and the discretion of Alaska HIDTA’s Executive Director.

Within this framework, Criminal Intelligence Analysts support a culture of coordinated public safety efforts by providing investigative intelligence that helps identify, disrupt, and dismantle drug-trafficking organizations and other criminal elements operating in Alaska.

WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:

This position is assigned to the Alaska HIDTA Investigative Support Center Unit (ISC) in the Alaska Criminal Intelligence Center and serves as a journey level intelligence analyst. This position will work a 5/8 schedule. Limited standby periods are required for this position. This is not a telework eligible position.
