Investigators 1/2 located in Anchorage!

These positions are in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 14/16.

Wage and Hour investigators perform investigations of alleged violations of the State wage and hour laws to include proper payment of wages, payment of minimum wage and overtime, paid sick leave, child labor, and prevailing wage payment on public construction projects. These positions also ensure compliance with State law through on-site inspections, providing seminars to educate and advise the public, and answering questions received through our public phone line and email address.

The mission of Labor Standards and Safety is to ensure safe and legal working conditions. Wage and Hour investigators carry out this mission by ensuring employers are educated on their responsibilities, employees are properly compensated for their work, child labor laws are followed, and that public construction contracts meet prevailing wage requirements.

This job is located at 1251 Muldoon Road, Suite 113 in Anchorage, Alaska. There is routine travel throughout the Anchorage area, occasional travel to the other regional offices located in Fairbanks and Juneau, and occasional travel throughout the state for on-site inspections.
