SummaryEnvironmental Services Associates are responsible for performing essential cleaning and sanitizing across the Alaska Native Medical Center accredited campus. This position contributes directly to patient and staff safety by ensuring the hospital and outpatient facilities remain presentable and clean. The role may involve clinical, administrative, and public areas, and involves following infection prevention protocols, handling regulated waste, and supporting operational readiness.
Higher‑level associates may serve as leads during their assigned shifts.
- With limited supervision, follow infection prevention and department procedures, perform daily cleaning and disinfection of assigned areas, including patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, construction areas, and public spaces
- Support terminal cleaning for discharged patients, including contact precaution rooms
- Follow hospital protocols for high‑touch surfaces, waste removal, and restocking supplies
- Safely handle and transport regulated medical waste and soiled linen
- Use and maintain cleaning tools, carts, and PPE according to safety standards
- Respond to calls for service requests professionally and efficiently
- Document completed tasks using checklists and/or digital logs
- Demonstrate commitment to safety, teamwork, and service excellence
