OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT – FULL TIME Polaris Transitional and Extended Care Center – Anchorage, AK

Polaris Transitional and Extended Care Center in Anchorage, AK, is currently seeking a Full Time Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house therapy team. We are a skilled nursing facility with long term care, post-acute rehab, and geriatric therapy services provided.

Pay Range: $35.00 - $45.00 hour based on experience

We are high paced facilities with both short-term and long-term care:

The extended care facility is inspired by the Green House care model, offering top-tier skilled nursing and rehabilitation services within a homely ambiance for its residents. 96 beds spread out over 8 free standing cottages each private room converges around a spacious central area, boasting an open-plan kitchen and dining space. This design prioritizes social interactions and nurtures a cozy atmosphere.

The transitional care facility is a 50-bed high tech facility with all individual rooms and a therapy gym with all the high-tech equipment and space a passionate therapist could ask for.

Anchorage, Alaska, is a beautiful city and is the gateway to many outdoor adventures. Anchorage boasts a diverse population including Alaska Native people from various tribes and cultures. This is a perfect location for your exciting lifestyle.

Duties
  • Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders, following regulatory and clinical standards under Occupational Therapist supervision.
  • Administer various rehabilitation procedures, including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices, under Occupational Therapist supervision.
  • Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
  • Report treatment outcomes' effectiveness to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Hold a current and active State license/registration where applicable.

Candidates with all levels of experience are welcome.
