What You Will Be Doing:- Lead a team of four staff supporting the Alaska Maternal Child Death Review program, which coordinates monthly multidisciplinary reviews of cases of infant and maternal death in Alaska and develops recommendations for prevention.
- Manage two federal grants that fund the program, including writing annual grant reports and work plans, and developing and revising budgets.
- Facilitate review meetings; recruit, train, and support committee members; and promote recommendations through community outreach and engagement activities and professional presentations.
- Collaborate with team members to develop protocols, job aids, and other documentation to ensure consistency and standardized program operations.
- Collaborate with and provide technical assistance to other public health review organizations.
The Maternal Child Health Epidemiology Unit’s purpose is to provide reliable data to measure and track health status, plan and evaluate programs, guide public health policy, and prevent poor health outcomes. We are committed to adding to and contributing to the body of scientific knowledge using the best available knowledge and data. The MCDR program is dedicated to reducing the number of deaths among infants, children, and mothers in Alaska by identifying the causes and contributing factors of these tragic events.

This position is in the Frontier Building in midtown Anchorage. As Program Manager, you’ll work closely with the MCDR team daily, including the Research Analyst, Program Associate, and Mental Health Clinician, as well as Section leadership, MCDR multidisciplinary committee members, and community partners. You may need to travel once or twice a year for federal grant‑related conferences or meetings, both in‑and out‑of‑state.
