Job Responsibilities:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Health Educator is responsible for developing, coordinating, conducting, and evaluating the customer-owner education program for the community and customer-owners served.
This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, Nursing, Health Education, Allied Health, or related discipline; OR equivalent combination of academic training and work experience.
- Certification as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist from an accredited Tobacco Treatment Education program. (Or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire).
- Certification as a facilitator of an evidence based, chronic disease self-management program. (Or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
- Two (2) years’ experience as a Health Educator; OR a master’s degree in Health Education; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Health Educator I at SCF.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
