American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist for an acute care Magnet hospital, requiring 1+ years of experience and AK PT License.
Requirements- Current AK PT License required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required, with preference for 2 years
- Pediatric experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of experience
- Pending license accepted but must be in hand prior to start
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Inpatient/outpatient pediatric physical therapy unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Shift options include 4x10 or 5x8 day shifts (traveler's choice)
- Approximately 1-2 weekend shifts required per month
- No on-call requirements
- Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Uses Epic for charting
- Scrubs provided by facility
- 13 or 26 week assignment length (traveler's choice)
- Pediatric population includes patients with cerebral palsy, developmental delays, spina bifida, torticollis, scoliosis, and neurologic conditions such as TBI and spinal cord injury
- Responsibilities include assessments, evaluations, treatment planning, and discharge planning for pediatric patients
- Utilizes adaptive equipment, orthotics, and various mobility devices including wheelchairs, walkers, and lifts
- Performs modalities including moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound
- Provides patient and family education on safety and injury prevention
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year - Hep B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent staff must have a 3-month separation before returning as a traveler
- Travel assignments limited to a maximum of 1 year, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to the same facility
- Level II Trauma Center and recognized as a Magnet facility
