Senior OR Surgical Instrument Specialist - Providence Anchorage

We are hiring for Senior OR Surgical Instrument Specialist position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. Position is Full Time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift, 40 hours per week.

Responsible for providing assistance and support for clinical staff in the Operating Room. Serves as the central point of contact for OR Clinical Staff, SPD, and General Stores. Assists with location and transport of case carts, troubleshoots instrument problems, recommends alternatives when desired instrumentation is unavailable, and facilitates the instrument fast turn-over process. Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments in the Operating Room following recommended guidelines and provides accurate documentation for this process.

Assists O.R. Clinical staff in obtaining necessary instrumentation and supplies for surgical procedures.

• 2 years experience as Sterile Processing Technician or OR Scrub Technician.
• Upon hire:
  National Certified Registered Central Service Technician – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician – Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or National Certified Instrument Specialist – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
