Hotel Housekeeping
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for leading the hotel’s Housekeeping operations and ensuring guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and laundry operations consistently meet company and applicable brand standards for cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising and developing the Housekeeping team, inspecting guestrooms and public areas, managing schedules and productivity, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and working closely with other hotel departments to ensure rooms are clean, ready, and available for guests.

- Oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping department, including guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and laundry operations as applicable.
- Ensure guestrooms and hotel areas consistently meet established company, brand, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
- Inspect guestrooms and public areas regularly and provide immediate coaching or corrective direction when standards are not met.
- Coordinate daily room assignments and priorities based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, stayovers, special requests, and business needs.
- Monitor room status throughout the day and work closely with the Front Office to ensure clean rooms are available for arriving guests.
- Monitor Housekeeping productivity, staffing levels, and labor expenses in relation to occupancy and business needs.
- Prepare department schedules in accordance with occupancy forecasts, staffing needs, productivity expectations, and budget guidelines.
- Review employee time records for accuracy and ensure payroll information is submitted according to established procedures.
- Maintain appropriate inventory and par levels for linens, terry, guest supplies, amenities, uniforms, cleaning products, and other departmental supplies.
- Conduct and document inventories as required.
- Order departmental supplies in accordance with company purchasing and expense-control procedures.
- Monitor the proper use, storage, and security of Housekeeping supplies, equipment, chemicals, linens, and guest amenities.
- Maintain and enforce appropriate key control procedures.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed for guest privacy, security, and entry into guestrooms.
- Oversee Lost and Found procedures and ensure items are properly documented, secured, and handled according to company policy.
- Monitor guest requests and Housekeeping-related concerns to ensure timely completion and follow-up.
- Respond professionally to guest concerns and work to resolve cleanliness or service issues promptly.
- Identify maintenance concerns during room and property inspections and communicate work orders to the appropriate department.
- Follow up on maintenance requests that affect room availability, cleanliness, safety, or the guest experience.
- Coordinate deep cleaning, preventive cleaning, and special Housekeeping projects.
