Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner with Operations Managers and business leaders to support HR operations, contract compliance, and workforce initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary HR advisor to employees and managers on employee relations, compensation, benefits, recruitment, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with employment contracts, CBAs, federal and state employment laws, and company policies.
  • Manage all employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
  • Support hiring efforts through job description management, candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and compensation recommendations.
  • Coordinate HR programs, policy updates, training initiatives, and organizational changes.
  • Maintain HRIS data, employee records, workforce metrics, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop and update HR policies, procedures, forms, and process improvements to enhance compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct HR audits and partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support EEO, Affimative Action, OFCCP, and other regulatory compliance requirements, including required filings and reporting.
  • Administer company drug and alcohol testing programs, including DOT and non-DOT testing.
  • Prepare employment verifications, unemployment responses, HR reports, and other employee-related documentation.
  • Lead and participate in HR projects and cross-functional initiatives to support business objectives.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing, investigations, and professional correspondence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and practices, including employee relations, recruitment, compensation and benefits, training, performance management, and HRIS administration.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including government contracting requirements and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations, contracts, policies, and employment-related issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Skilled in identifying compliance risks, conducting research, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with DOT and drug testing regulations.
  • Proficient in HR technology systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
  • Prior experience with HRIS data management, preferably Deltek CostPoint.
  • Prior experience dealing with or working in a union environment.
