Systems Analyst, IT Consultant
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.

Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Location: City Hall – 632 W 6th Ave, 4th Floor
Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step; advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Position OverviewThis position, under the direction of a Systems Analyst Supervisor, will implement the development, testing, and operational support of MOA Applications. The role will include responsibilities for the development, alteration, enhancement, maintenance, monitoring, and support of municipal computer systems/applications for the assigned area of responsibility. This includes analyzing and resolving errors at the direction of the Systems Analyst Supervisor; preparing and updating system and user documentation;
assisting customers in the use of assigned systems; providing input on areas of expertise to the Systems Analyst Supervisor; delivering necessary testing to certify system changes, fixes, patches, and upgrades to assigned systems are operational; and assisting with project documentation and the transition to program/system maintenance staff.
Minimum education and experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 8 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline AND 6 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline AND 4 years of experience.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline AND 2 years of experience.
Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
