Business Analyst/Data Analyst

Scope:
Responsible for business analyst and data management activities to assist with project delivery.

Responsible for understanding and executing service-related business needs, documenting the business processes and/or requirements, and driving efforts to completion.

• Directs, defines, documents and carries out small to medium projects, actively participating in all phases under direction of manager.
• Identify, assess and manage risks to ensure project success.
• Deliver realistic project and quality plans, track activities, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders.
• Monitor cost, time and resources used, taking action when deviate from agreed tolerances.
• Investigate operational requirements, problems and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
• Manage analysis of business processes; identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility and recommend new approaches.
• Contribute to evaluating factors that must be addressed in the change program to establish requirements for implementing changes in departmental business process.
• Support others to execute tests of new/updated processes and may create and/or assist in training internal users within the company.
• Gather and assimilate information/data using known tools, techniques and methods to ensure accurate concise output summarizing findings; maintain communication with stakeholders, ensuring project/tasks delivered on time and to expectations.
• Review and prepare results documents and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Maintain updated knowledge of evolving technology and methods that can be used for effective business and data analysis.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, information systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of post‑high‑school education and experience equal to four (4) years.

2–5 years of experience in quality data entry, training, business analysis and/or project management.

• Researches, defines, documents business processes and objectives with a focus on data quality and process documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication; collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in an office setting, meet deadlines, detail-oriented.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft applications.
• System implementation experience; business and systems analysis and quality data entry.
• Project organization and risk management skills.
• Develops and maintains user guides to facilitate learning of business information systems.
• Fast learner, able to assist users with training.
