UAA IT Field Services is an onsite team that provides support in both the traditional desktop and the AV Services field. As a Field Services Technician, you will have the opportunity to work on a vast array of projects involving multiple IT units while providing amazing service to our university students, staff and faculty. To thrive in this role, an applicant should have at least three years of experience providing desktop, A/V, printing, networking, and software deployment support, along with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Success requires hands‑on experience supporting Windows 7/8/10/11, macOS, iPads, printers, and Microsoft Office applications, as well as the ability to quickly resolve technical issues while maintaining a high level of customer service.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who works effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrates a friendly and professional demeanor when assisting university customers, and is flexible enough to participate in occasional after‑hours support and on‑call rotations. An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire, is also essential.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates or Bachelors Degree is preferred.

Dell and Extron Controls Specialist certification, or the ability to obtain within one year is required.

The following certifications and/or knowledge/skills are preferred:

  • A+ certification
  • Extron AV Associate
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server
  • JAMF
  • Service Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Position Details

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.

A valid Alaska Driver's License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
