Job Summary and QualificationsAs a member of the Cere Core Epic team, the Epic System Educator collaborates with the Cere Core Education Team to support the implementation and teaching of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) in the new hire orientation training program. The role provides training and support to providers in the Epic EHR.
The Epic System Educator is results‑oriented, providing high‑quality customer service and education. This position develops, delivers, and maintains system‑training programs for Epic, utilizing in‑person classroom training, live virtual training, asynchronous or web‑based training, and knowledge‑base articles with a blended learning approach.
The educator teaches classes, facilitates training on all aspects of the EHR during new hire training, maintains lesson plans, and communicates Epic changes or upgrades to Clinical Team leads and Super Users. The role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting competence in all Epic‑related training applications and new hire orientation.
Being an education professional, the ideal candidate displays strong skills in developing and delivering training programs to diverse audiences, applying adult learning principles, needs assessments, course development, and training implementation. The position requires a solid understanding of clinical documentation and orders applications, workflow, and healthcare‑based information technology. This is an on‑site position.

- Lead and execute the development and maintenance of Epic training materials, including training product governance and validation/acceptance criteria.
- Develop course content, training materials, agendas, lesson plans, and presentations in collaboration with Project Teams, Subject Matter Experts, Clients, and Business Owners.
- Deliver classroom, live virtual, and web‑based training sessions.
- Participate in the change control process to keep training environments sync with production.
- Conduct requirements‑gathering sessions with project teams to develop appropriate training plans.
- Stay informed of production changes and communicate them to stakeholders.
- Communicate Epic changes or upgrades to Clinical Team leads and Super Users.
- Recommend appropriate media for specific educational purposes.
- Deliver results through collaboration in a matrixed environment.
- Pursue certifications/accreditations to deepen system knowledge.
- Support the implementation and teaching of Epic to new hires, including physicians.
- Apply adult learning principles, needs assessments, course development, and training implementation.
- Provide first‑level floor support and proactively address physicians’ support needs on the floor and in physician practices.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document competence in all Epic‑related training applications.
- Assist in the implementation and support of Epic for facilities, physicians, physician offices, and all other end users.
- Communicate workflows to end users, providers, and stakeholders.
- Participate actively in projects affecting providers and other Epic end users.
- Document interactions with providers and clinical leadership, confirming needs are met and reporting issues as required.
- Provide hands‑on support for moderate to complex inquiries, determining the appropriate Epic application and coordinating resolution.
- Mentor other System Educators.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application‑specific issue builds/fixes with the Project Team.
- Participate in incident support, design, and end‑user/ stakeholder meetings as a member of the Epic Cere Core team.
- Build strong relationships at the facility with core customer base (nurses, physicians, core team members, etc.).
