Position: IT System Administrator 2 (Senior Full Stack Web Developer PCN 026502)

This position is open to Alaskan Residents only.

About the Role

The Department of Administration, Division of Office of Information Technology (OIT) is recruiting for an IT System Administrator 2 in either Anchorage or Juneau. Pay depends on the location of the selected candidate.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Lead and mentor on full‑stack web development and enterprise infrastructure projects.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain major statewide applications such as my Alaska, BEACHES, Address Verification, Online Public Notices, Notary, Confluence, JIRA, and others.
  • Support backend environments using Microsoft Server, SQL, LDAP, Active Directory, and related technologies.
  • Translate design specifications into code, tests, documentation, and deployment artifacts.
  • Build and maintain test environments and support system promotion through development, test, and production.
  • Work with customers and technical peers to demo features, validate requirements, and ensure solutions meet real needs.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position may work from Anchorage (619 E Ship Creek Ave) or Juneau (333 Willoughby Ave), both located near restaurants, coffee shops, and recreation areas. When onsite, your work environment is a professional technology office with modern tools and collaboration spaces.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Hardware: Knowledge of specifications, uses, and types of computer or computer‑related equipment.
  • Infrastructure Design: Knowledge of the architecture and typology of software, hardware, and networks, including LANs, WANs, and telecommunications systems.
  • Operating Systems: Knowledge of computer network, desktop, and mainframe operating systems and their applications.
  • Systems Integration: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components.
  • Systems Testing and Evaluation: Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing systems testing and evaluation procedures and technical characteristics of IT systems.
