Systems Administrator Senior – TS/SCI required

As a Systems Administrator Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful supporting the mission of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for activities related to system administration.
  • Assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work.
  • Ensures long‑term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software.
  • Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
  • Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
  • Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, OS installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems.
  • Install/load operating system and application software.
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 12+ years of related experience.
  • Technical skills:
    • Ability to provide in‑depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems.
    • Be able to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Required certification(s):
    • DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Env: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date).
  • Role requirements:
    • On customer site daily support.
    • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
    • Position may require lifting of objects (IT hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (plugging in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity.
    • Travel may be required to support the mission.
