Commercial Underwriter / Senior Commercial Underwriter
Anchorage, AK – onsite
$70k-$85k DOE
About the RoleOur client is a highly mission-driven, Alaska-based MGA with 45 years of experience serving agents, insureds, and carrier partners. They are seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to help grow the future of the organization — bringing strong underwriting judgment, relationship-building skills, and a willingness to embrace AI, automation, and technology-driven innovation.
This role is ideal for someone with 4-6+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience, preferably within an MGA or E&S environment, who can manage a meaningful book of business, support profitable growth, and contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
Licensing is preferred but not required, and while 3–5 years of experience from a background in banking, legal, finance, or mortgage is a plus, what matters most is that the candidate is teachable and brings relatable, transferable skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment, is coachable, adaptable, and able to multitask and pivot as needed. They must be comfortable with and enthusiastic about technology, mission-driven, and eager to grow into leadership.
Must be receptive to constructive criticism. The client offers a fun team environment, incentives, and a clear path for growth.
