Procurement Manager

Donlin Gold is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement execution across the Donlin Gold Project. This role will oversee the sourcing and acquisition of critical equipment, materials, and services needed to support engineering, construction, and project delivery.

This is a key leadership role for someone who understands complex project procurement and knows how to balance cost, quality, schedule, supplier performance, and commercial risk. The ideal candidate brings extensive supply chain experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate procurement activities across multiple EPCm organizations and project stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project objectives, execution plans, cost targets, and schedules.
  • Lead procurement of major equipment, materials, and services from initial planning through contract award and final delivery.
  • Develop sourcing strategies, bid packages, evaluation criteria, and procurement execution plans.
  • Lead supplier prequalification, competitive bidding, commercial evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations.
  • Negotiate contracts to achieve the best balance of cost, quality, delivery, and commercial risk.
  • Monitor market conditions, including supply and demand for critical and long-lead equipment.
  • Manage procurement schedules for long-lead equipment and critical materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, quality, logistics, and delivery commitments.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate procurement activities across EPCm contractors to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Partner closely with engineering, project controls, construction, logistics, contracts, and operations to support project milestones.
  • Review technical and commercial evaluations to support best-value procurement decisions.
  • Develop procurement budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and cost analyses.
  • Identify procurement and supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve supplier disputes, commercial claims, and contractual issues.
  • Provide procurement metrics, forecasts, and reporting to Project Leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop procurement personnel while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, safety and environmental standards, ethical sourcing expectations, and corporate governance requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of procurement experience, including a minimum of five years supporting mining or large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience supporting EPCm execution on major mining, energy, or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of import/export customs and tariff requirements.
  • Experience leading procurement personnel and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contracting, logistics, Incoterms, and supply chain risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-value procurement packages simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, construction, project controls, contracts, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent, and Microsoft Office.
  • CPM, CPSM, or similar professional procurement certification is highly desirable.
  • Mining industry experience preferred.
