The Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. You will inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles, and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. We are looking for a Fuel Farm Mechanic with proven three years (or more) of experience working on vehicles/trucks.

& Schedule
  • Location: Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC)
  • Schedule: 24/7 operations; schedules based on seniority and availability
  • Required: Must possess mechanical tools and toolbox
  • Pay: $34.05/Hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment including pipeline issues, electrical equipment, motors, switch gears, and lighting
  • Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment on fuel hydrant systems and fuel vacuum vehicles
  • Investigate and adjust customer complaints/concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance
  • Diagnose problems using test equipment, statistics, equipment history, manufacturer specifications and industry standards
  • Follow company and departmental safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain records related to maintenance
  • Support Quality Control and Fuel System Operators
  • Meet the station’s attendance standards
  • Assist Department Manager in absence by performing supervisory duties
  • Duties commensurate with a military Liquid Fuels Maintenance (LFM) Technician
Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess valid US driver’s license
  • Proficient reading, writing and speaking English
  • Comfortable lifting/moving up to 70 lbs
  • Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • All mechanics required to perform duties of other positions as needed
  • Must obtain and maintain all required Airport Badge
  • High School Diploma or GED, or related experience/training

Frequent work in outside weather conditions; near moving mechanical parts, high voltages, high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures; exposure to loud noise, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous substances; occasional work in high, precarious places.

Physical Requirements

Must stand, walk, sit, use hands; reach with arms; climb or balance; talk or hear. Must open/close large valve on 16" delivery pipelines quickly. Must lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
