Accountant 4 (Project Control Chief)

The Accountant 4 (Project Control Chief) manages, coordinates, and directs programming and budget management for all Central Region capital projects within the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. This supervisory position provides professional, budgetary, and administrative support to the Regional Director, Design and Construction Directors, and Project Managers while ensuring adherence to federal and program guidelines. The role is based in Anchorage with part-time telework options available.

• Supervision: plans work assignments, evaluates performance, recommends employment actions and discipline
• Organizational Awareness: knows organization mission, functions, programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
• Grants Management Laws, Regulations, and Guidelines: knowledge of federal regulations, OMB circulars, and grant program guidelines
• Analysis and Assessment: uses information technology to access, collect, analyze, and disseminate data
• Financial Analysis: knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, modeling, earned value management, and key financial indicators
• Principles of Accounting: knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the full accounting cycle
