In the role of Alaska Highway and Roads Market Sector Leader, we will count on you to:
- Promote delivery of all HDR services to clients and serve as a Project Manager and Lead Designer for transportation/roadway projects
- Collaborate with Alaska Area leads for pursuit strategy and project delivery
- Identify and develop new clients for HDR and serve as a client manager for key clients
- Collaborate with regional and national Market Sector Directors and facilitate knowledge/best practice transfer, and staff workshare to support pursuits/projects
- Identify pursuit opportunities in the market
- Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of key projects to support a positive client experience
- Develop and implement market sector growth initiatives in partnership with leadership and client services managers.
- Work with pursuit teams to develop client and pursuit strategies based on proven capture techniques and support pursuit teams in developing persuasive proposals
- Participate in industry associations (ITE, ACEC, etc.) and community organizations to elevate HDR's brand in target markets
- Identify key investments (talent, acquisitions and technology) and partner with leadership on recruiting key talent to improve our industry leadership position
- Develop relationships with leadership in key client organizations
- Monitor market sector performance indicators, including NFE, NFB, profits, positive equity, AR, losses and investments
- Perform quality reviews of proposal and interview materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years project management experience (scope, schedule, budget)
- Experience managing projects for clients in Alaska specifically the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities
- Strong relationships within the Alaska A&E industry
- Experience delivering projects for roadways/highways, traffic and safety, and horizontal construction
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience
- Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services
- Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits
- Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path and professional growth
- Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector
- Ability to work cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers
- Demonstrated commitment to HDR values. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
