JOB SUMMARYThe AlaskanAIDSAssistance
Associationprovidesa large numberofsupportive servicestopeople living with HIV across the state of Alaska and is supported by the Ryan White Part B funds administered by the State of Alaska. Case Management and housing services are also supported throughfundingfromthe
Housing Opportunities Program for People with AIDS(HOPWA),another federal funding source managed by HUD and administered by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. The case management program serves over 250 people across the state each year.
The HIV Care Manager is responsible for oversight of programs that meet the needs of individuals living with HIV and their families. This includes training, support and supervision of three Anchorage-based Case Managers, and two remote Case Managers from a strengths-based perspective,andensuringthatallservicesareprovidedinsupportiveandaffirmingenvironmentand in line with the values of the organization.
TheHIVCareManagercoordinatestheday-to-daydeliveryofcasemanagementservices.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation and
Experience:
Experienceinhumanservices,social services,orrelatedfieldanda minimum of3 years direct experience in social services. Supervisory experience required. Prefer knowledge of/experience with harm reduction, health disparities, and trauma-informed care.
Communication
Skills:
Communicate effectively in oral and written form with clients, family members,agencystaff,otherserviceagencies,andthegeneralpublic;strongactivelisteningskills.
Equipment:
- Abilitytooperateproficientlyapersonalcomputer,fax machine,printer,andcopier.
- Accesstotransportation.
- Cellphonerequired.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequentcommunication-verbalandwritten.
- Frequentsittingand/or standing.
- Repetitivemovementofhandsandfingers-typingand/orwriting.
- Visuallyorotherwiseidentify,observeandassess.

Certification sand Clearances:
Valid driver'slicense;proofofautoinsurance(ifusingaprivatevehicle).Federal and State background check (related only to fraud and abuse of vulnerable populations) and TB test.
Knowledge:
- Experience and/or knowledge of training and supervising staff members. Possess knowledgeofcasemanagementandcommunitycollaboration.
Preferred:experience/knowledge of social services available in Anchorage and the Mat-Su.

Primary Responsibilities:- Provideservicesinaccordancetothe
FourA’smissionstatement. - Responsibleforadheringtoallpolicyandproceduresasoutlinedinthe Employee Handbook and other departmental procedure manuals.
- Responsible for the orientation,training, evaluation,and supervision of Intensive Case Managers .
- Responsibleforfollowinggrantguidelinesforthe Ryan White Part Band Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) programs.
- Ensureservicesmeetallrequirementsasoutlinedbythefundingsourceand/or State/Fedlaw.
- Actasaliaisonormediatorbetweencasemanagersandclientswhenneeded.
- Assistwithdata collectionformonthly,quarterly,andannualreports.
- Structureandfacilitateindividualcasemanagersupervisionmeetings
- Attend local and state housing forums/coalitions and network with other affordable housing andhomelessserviceprovidersinthecommunitytoaccessservicesandincreaserecognition of needs of homeless people with HIV.
- Responsibleforapprovaloffundsforserviceprovisionunderdirectionofthe Director of Programs .
- Overseetheadministrationofthe
FourA’sfoodpantry. - Providedirectionandguidanceofprogram-relatedadministrativetaskstothe
RyanWhite Administrative Assistant (this position is supervised by the Director of Programs). - ResponsibleforunderstandingtherequirementsandprogramservicesoftheAIDSDrug Assistance ProgramandcollaboratingwithADAPstafftomeettheneedsofclientswho need insurance assistance.
- Participatesinqualityassuranceactivitiesunderthedirectionofthe Director of Programs .
- Providedirectservicestoclientsonanas-neededbasis.
- Overseeon-siteclienteventsincluding
